Grass & Weed Violations

With mowing season upon us, we would like to provide residents with information about the City’s ordinances regarding tall grass and weeds.

Any weeds or grass that reach a height of 8 inches are considered a public nuisance. Weeds and grass that are permitted to attain a height of eight inches on any property may be cut, removed or destroyed, and a minimum cutting fee to cover the costs associated with enforcement of $160.00 or the actual costs, whichever is greater shall be billed to the owner of the property. If payment in full is not received within 30 days from the due date, a late fee in the amount of $50.00 shall be charged. If full payment is not received, the amount owed to the city shall be collected as a special assessment against the premises.
