ISO Classification

In July of 2020 the city of Adrian was evaluated by ISO regarding its Public Protection Classification (the system fire insurance underwriters use to determine fire insurance rates. Areas evaluated include: Fire Departments (staffing, equipment and response), water systems and 9-1-1 Emergency Dispatch). Adrian improved from a Class 5 to a Class 4 (Class 1 is the highest, Class 9 is the lowest). Evaluations are conducted about every 5 years. What this means in terms of dollars and cents to citizens is a question best left answered by insurance companies, but typically lower homeowner insurance rates are seen.
