Yard Waste Collection


Spring Yard Waste Collection will begin on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 and carry on through every Wednesday in November except November 22, 2023.
You must have your yard waste out to the curb by 7:00 AM.

All yard waste shall be placed in biodegradable and/ or compostable paper bags and must not weigh more than fifty (50) pounds. Unapproved containers, including plastic bags, will not be picked up for collection.

Yard waste includes: grass clippings, leaves, garden debris, small branches less than 1/4 inch diameter, and shrubbery. Note: It is against city ordinance to rake/blow leaves into the streets or leave them loose at the curb.

Bundled branches and brush must meet the following guidelines:

  • Tied in bundles no longer than three (3) feet in length or 12 inches in diameter.
  • Bundles are placed parallel with the curb.
  • Bundles weigh less than fifty (50) pounds.
  • Brush/Branches will NOT be accepted in bags, boxes or any other containers.
Special brush pickups, due to weather events, will be conducted at the discretion of the Engineering Services Director.

Residents may take yard waste to the Adrian Compost Site from May to December.  Non-residents may take yard waste to the compost site for a fee.  Visit the Compost Site page for more information.
