Engineering and Public Works

The Engineering and Public Works Departments are responsible for a variety of different tasks all contributing to the quality of your everyday life. These departments work to maintain the infrastructures within the City’s 42.71 miles of local streets, 30.85 miles of major streets, and 12.7 miles of State Trunk Lines. In addition, they are responsible for:

  • Street Maintenance
  • Storm Sewer Maintenance
  • Compost Site Operations
  • Recycling Program
  • Garbage Collection Schedule
  • Seasonal Yard Waste Collection
  • Traffic Sign and Signal Maintenance
  • Snow Removal
  • City’s Fleet of Vehicles
  • Parking Lot Maintenance
  • Street Lights
  • Residential On-Street Parking Permits
  • Pavement Markings
  • Permitting for all work to be completed within the City’s Right-of-Way (ROW)
  • Sidewalk Rehab
