The City of Adrian has roughly 6,500 street trees with another 5,000 to 8,000 trees in the parks, which are all maintained by the Forestry crew. The street trees have all been entered into a tree inventory database which allows detailed mapping of each individual tree. The tree inventory also tracks information like tree species, age and condition. It also keeps a record of work performed on each tree.

The Harriett Kimball Fee Estate was established to assist in the beautification of Adrian’s city parks and public properties. The funds are to be used for beautification only and cannot be used for things such as athletic fields, recreation facilities, playground equipment or land acquisition.

Recent projects using Fee Estate Funds include Fee Park, Comstock Park, Riverview Trail and Trestle Park Boardwalk.

Contact the Parks & Forestry Department if you have questions or concerns about a street tree, if you would like more information regarding your own private tree maintenance, planting or removal, or if you would like information on any of the City of Adrian’s parks.

Tree Planting Information

If you’re interested in having a street tree planted in the right-of-way in front of your home please contact the Parks & Forestry Department at 517-264-4876. Be sure and include your street address and daytime phone number so that we may inspect the location and determine whether or not a tree can be planted.
