Adrian Dial-A-Ride & Lenawee Transportation Operations - COVID-19
As our community continues to slowly re-open, our service hours may be adjusted.  We look forward to providing transportation services for you!

Lenawee Transportation:
Open Monday – Friday from 8am – 4pm. For scheduling information please call 517-265-4444.

Adrian Dial-A-Ride:
Open Monday – Friday beginning at 7am, last call accepted will be 3:00pm. A limited crew will be providing transportation services.
For seniors who attended the Adrian Senior Center for their lunch meals – we have partnered with the Department on Aging to provide a drive through service – with the Senior Center staff providing curb side service. (The Adrian Senior Center is offering this service from 11:30 – 12:30 only). 
Facial coverings are required at all times while riding the City and County buses.

Dial-A-Ride is the public transportation system in Adrian that will pick you up at your curb side and take you anywhere you want to go in the city limits of Adrian. We offer comfortable seating and each vehicle is wheel chair accessible.

To schedule your ride, please call 517-265-6611 and let the dispatcher know where you need to be picked up and where you want to go. The dispatcher will send a bus to pick you up.

A “standing order” for service each day can also be booked with only one call to the Dial-A-Ride office.

  • Please let the dispatcher know if you have special needs for a wheel chair lift equipped bus.
  • Please let the dispatcher know if you have an appointment.
  • Please cancel your ride if you are NOT going to need our service.

Anyone, any age, who is able to travel can use Dial-A-Ride services. Please call ahead and allow 30 – 45 minutes for the bus to arrive. You may make several stops before arriving at your destination, so plan for a slightly longer ride on the bus than you would expect in a car.

Passengers are responsible for carrying their own packages from store to bus and from bus to home. Please limit your carry ons to 3 packages.
For your safety, please consider traveling with a personal assistant/aide if you require extra assistance in using transportation services. Service animals are permitted to board the vehicles.
“Hail stops” and “walk on” customers will also be accommodated, but the option of which vehicle will carry the passenger is left to the dispatcher.

For the convenience of all, smoking is not allowed on board the Dial-A-Ride vehicles.

Ticket books may be purchased at Adrian City Hall, our dispatch center located at 377 Logan Street or from the bus driver for $20.00. There are (20) $1.00 tickets in each book. These can be used in lieu of cash.

How does it work?

Contact the dispatch office at 265-6611. All scheduling is done out of this location. Let the dispatcher know where you need to be picked up and where you want to go. The dispatcher will send a bus to pick you up. A “standing order” for service at the same time every day can also be booked with only one call to the DART office. (Example: Every Monday at 7:30am or every Tuesday at 10:00am).

 
Who can use Dial-A-Ride and When?

Anyone, any age, who is able to travel can use DART. Our doors are open to the general public!

Buses will operate on this schedule:
Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 5:00pm. Last call is 4:30pm.
We ask that you allow 30 – 45 minutes for the bus to arrive.
Some hints for using DART

Please place your calls one hour in advance. Keep your conversation with the dispatcher short. He will be busy!
Many people will be using the service. You may make several stops before arriving at your destination, so plan for a slightly longer ride on the bus than you would expect in a car.
Because other people are waiting, passengers are responsible for carrying their own packages from store to bus and from bus to home. Please limit your carry ons to 3 packages.
For their safety, an escort must accompany all wheelchair riders.
